BlueTix
An app for University of Michigan students to efficiently and safely exchange sports tickets.
Project Context
Background
The University of Michigan is known for its sports. A big part of campus life is going to the games, whether it be football, basketball, hockey, etc. For my project in my digital product design class, I decided to design an app that would allow students to safely buy and sell sports tickets.

Overview
Solution
In the onboarding process, I added a student verification system for protection and privacy.
Created efficient interface with fast messaging and transactions.
Problem
Current student ticket exchanging takes place on 2nd hand social media sites, which are easily subject to scammers.
Communication between buyers and sellers is long and tedious.

Persona Profile Development
I identified three different user groups that would likely use my app. I created a user profile for each in order to pinpoint pain-points with the current ticketing systems.
User Stories
From the profiles, I created user stories, which are probable scenarios for why someone may be interacting with my app. This allowed me to identify different user paths and interactions.

Next Steps
My next steps for developing this app are to conduct interviews and usability tests to see how people will interact with my app. This will allow me to gather information on what works and what doesn't. I would also like to add access to selling all Michigan sports tickets outside the four most popular. If I am able to obtain app functionality, I would talk to fellow students who are interested in sports and have them test my app and give me feedback. From feedback, I would iterate and refine my prototype.
Key Takeaways
Comparing this project with my past collaborative team projects, I found it much more difficult to come up with creative design ideas without outside team member input. One of the ways I overcame this was by looking through other app designs online for sparks of inspiration. Research and competitive analysis is imperative to creating designs that align with industry standards. Additionally, I found extreme importance in learning from the pain points of similar apps.
